To attract a wide diversity of wildlife, your pond should be planted with a variety of plant types. You should consider a mixture of marginal plants, which sit around the edge of the pond or in a bog garden, oxygenating plants anddeep water plants, which will offer sanctuary to underwater animal species, and floating plants.
The plants will need regular care and maintenance, as with all garden and pond plants, for a guide to general pond plant care click here.
To maintain a good ecological balance between your nature pond and the local wildlife it is recommended that you should only use native plant species.
