Green water is the bane of pond keepers everywhere and is caused by millions of tiny single celled algae that are small enough not to be filtered out. These algae cells feed on the nitrates, warmth and sunlight in ponds and they multiply rapidly. They float in suspension in pond water making the water appear a murky green and sometimes lead to a kind of green scum or residue floating on the pond surface.

Nishikoi ClearWaters Green Water effectively makes these cells sticky which makes them clump together so that they can then be filtered out. Any not caught by the filter will sink to the bottom of the pond and can then be removed by algae nets or pond vacuums.
