After extensive research Oase have developed a new and improved version of their Hel-X bio-media especially for use within the ProfiClear Premium modular filter system. The new Hel-X 13 biomedium is so called because it has a 13% increase in the biological settlement surface area (and 40% more settlement area than K1 Media).
This means that there is more space for beneficial bacteria to settle and multiply - which translates to improved and faster break down of harmful waste materials and food waste within the Moving Bed Module of the ProfiClear Premium system. 25 Litres of Hel-X 13 can decompose 170g of food waste per day.
