K1 Micro uses the experience and knowledge garnered over 20 years of research and development by Evolution Aqua into moving filter beds to bring you a first rate filter media. The 'Moving Bed' process has been tried and tested in commercial applications for years, and is now available to the fish keeper.

The media are wheel shaped and float, which allows them to move around in the filter. This process constantly removes old, dead bacteria from the media, effectively making room for young, healthy bacteria that will grow and feed rapidly on the harmful ammonia and nitrite created by fish waste.

Unlike foams, foam matting or other forms of static filtration media, K1 moves freely within your filter. This constant chaotic movement of the air from an air pump causes the media to self clean, meaning that no maintenace is required.
