It's that time of year again, as the days get longer and there is more sunlight (hopefully!) then ponds start to go green. If you've got a UV filter then you shouldn't get green water but the UV bulb that works this magic doesn't last forever. They are only really effective in generating UV light for the first 6 months or so, after that they might still light up but won't be working properly. The best thing to do is change your bulb every spring - right about now!
