Pond Fish - Grass Carp

The Grass Carp, or White Amur, is a herbivorous, freshwater fish native to Siberia and Northern China, which is cultivated in China for food.

Grass carp are veracious eaters and were introduced to areas of North America and Europe for aquatic weed control, and they have a reputation for eating blanketweed from ponds. They can grow very large and require a big pond.Grass carp are an invasive, non-native species, it is illegal to release them into the wild in the UK.
